I then tried moving the now-empty 5KPlayer app to the recycle bin, but the system wouldn't let me, prompting me with a message that somehow, despite the contents of the app being deleted, the app itself IS STILL RUNNING!!! This pop-up advertisement appeared OVER-TOP of the video I was watching, and there was no way to close or dismiss this advertisement.
When I tired to watch a video in the 5KPlayer malware, there was a persistent pop-up ad in the upper right corner of my screen to buy video conversion software.
